Isabel (Benedita's sister) is about to talk with Benedita but the arrival of Eduardo interrupts their conversation. Horácio (Boheme's head of production) leaves Laura’s office and talks with Eduardo about the status of their factory production. He reveals that Salvador had promised bonuses to workers who do more work in order to get more done even when they are tired. Eduardo is surprised and after Horácio leaves, he tells Benedita that the offer his brother made to the workers was not approved by company management.
Later, Eduardo confirms with Salvador that he promised a bonus to employees to try to speed up the production of the new shoe collection by Boheme. He maliciously tells his brother that no one was authorized to make such an offer, least of all, him. Salvador is irritated, grabs his car keys and leaves the house.
Later at the office, Eduardo offers leather boots to Benedita and she can barely disguise her joy. Eduardo takes advantage of her happiness at the gift, and asks her to wear them to go out with him later. Benedita informs him that she has already has plans that night, but Eduardo realizes that she is indeed warming back up to him. Salvador comes in and interrupts their conversation and asks Eduardo if they can talk. Eduardo goes with him to his office. Salvador warns his brother that that must honor the offer he made to the factory workers. Eduardo says he never should have offered a bonus to the workers with the company in a delicate situation, and Salvador says that if he has to, he would pay them out of his own pocket, because unlike him, he is a man of his word. Teresa enters the office, after hearing their arguing, and takes Salvador's side. Eduardo is very annoyed with the whole situation.
Later at home, Eduardo comes into the dinning room, with Andreia by his side, saying that everything is fine. Teresa mocks him, muttering under her breath. Eduardo is once again defeated when Laura decides that the company has to pay workers the bonus that Salvador promised. The matriarch cuts Eduardo off when he tries to share his opinion. Laura says that they cannot afford to lose any more time, and Teresa mockingly smiles to her brother, who is furious.
