Eduardo is questioned by police and denies having beaten Andreia, assuring them that they just shouted at each other, one of the many arguments that they have had recently.  One of the officers laughs when he explains that his wife drank and fell in the bathroom, and that's what caused the injuries that are visible on her body. After the questioning, the cops leave, but warn that they will want to hear all the other people who live with them at home. Eduardo is panicked, not knowing what to do.

Benedita is overwhelmed to learn that Andreia lost the baby and Eduardo hit her. Eduardo plays the the victim and tries to convince his secretary that he only slapped Andreia, and only because she upset him so much he lost control. Benedita believes him, and becomes hopeful that now that Andreia lost the baby, there is nothing trapping Eduardo to his wife but Eduardo avoids the question by saying that he must first resolve the issue of domestic violence complaint that Andreia had filed against him.  Laura enters the Boheme office, and menacingly says to her son that she wants to talk with him immediately.

In her office, Laura disgraces Eduardo and reprimands him for not seeing the severity in his assaulting his wife, especially at a time when the company is already facing a wave of negative publicity.  Eduardo tries to downplay the incident, and says Andreia's complaint was certainly supported by Teresa and Margarida. Laura gets even angrier and orders him to not involve his sisters in his problem.  His mother demands he make Andreia withdraw the complaint, and he says he thinks he can resolve the situation with a simple apology.  She says that despite being married so many years, he does not know his wife at all, and gives him some earrings to give to Andreia to show he is sorry.  Eduardo is amazed by the attitude of his mother, and fearful when she tells him if he ever hits Andreia again, it will be Laura he has to deal with.

Eduardo enters the house, flowers in hand and both Teresa and Margarida receive him coldly, condemning their brother for hitting Andreia. Eduardo goes up to the room and, after overcoming the initial coldness from his wife, he ends up getting her forgiveness, convincing her he is sorry for hitting her, and asking her to withdraw the complaint she made to the police.  Andreia likes the bouquet of flowers, but she responds even more to the earrings he gives her, assured that he really wants their marriage to work.  Andreia even lets him sleep with her that night.

The next day at the office, Eduardo thanks his mother for buying the earrings he gave Andreia, confirming they worked and that his wife will go by the police to drop her complaint against him.  Laura replies the cost of the earrings will be taken out of his next paycheck. Eduardo gets angry because his mother continues to put him on the sidelines of company decisions, relying solely Salvador for all decisions.  Laura tells her son to his face that the company's staff do not see him as a leader, and orders him to go to the hospital to test for organ compatibility with Teresa, instead. That's her priority right now..  Eduardo tries hard to hide the anger he feels.

Laura is determined to use the designs that Sofia left at Boheme, facing the pressure of having to present a new collection in the coming days.  But Eduardo is reluctant, preferring instead to make the company's designers present new creations.  Laura says that it is another way to provoke Sofia, how dare he contradict her.

Later, Benedita pressures Eduardo to ask Andreia for a divorce so that he can be with her.  He argues that he needs more time, and the secretary reminds him that she’s heard that same speech for years. Eduardo is saved by the arrival of Salvador, who is looking for Laura.

  1. I usually don't say this word but I feel it's warranted: 'Eduardo is a douchebag.' Of course, he gave her a gift, not because he's sorry but because he doesn't want her to say anything about it.
I was in a relationship almost similar to this one. I wasn't slapped but I was pushed up against the wall where he wrapped his hands around my neck. He was very angry and pushed me into his stone fireplace. The difference is, I didn't put up with it. I left him and never looked back. Presents and apologies aren't worth anything if they aren't heart felt. I guess that's why Eduardo just rubs me the wrong way. Can't stand him.
I guess that would be a compliment to Diogo for doing such a wonderful job. :)

    Thanks. :)
