Laura, who has stayed away from Simão  pretends she doesn't care, while Eduardo lowers his head in shame.  Margarida congratulates her brother and Teresa is sure that they’ll be very happy.  Laura tells Eduardo to go to the company because there are important issues to resolve.  Teresa reminds her mother that she has to go to the ceremony to receive the award. Eduardo explains that their mother is up for the "businesswoman of the year" award.

Eduardo holds out hope of being appointed director to replace his sister at Boheme, but Andreia shoots him down his dream to say she thinks that Laura will choose Salvador or Margarida for the position.  Eduardo is annoyed to the point of calling her fat. She says she is pregnant and calls him stupid.

Eduardo is on the verge of a nervous breakdown when Laura appoints Salvador to replace Teresa. Eduardo argues that he is the oldest, not to mention that he is her biological son, but his mother treats him with contempt and stresses that she doesn't owe him any explanation.  Salvador asks his mother if she will be going to receive the businesswoman of the year award. She replies that it would be bad form not to go with her sons at her side.  Eduardo insists to Laura that he has the ability to run the management of Boheme but his mother humiliates him by saying that her decision is made because Salvador has more management experience than him.
Eduardo then goes so low as to say he not only has the management experience, but he points out that Salvador was adopted and that isn’t even her son.
Laura answers that just having the experience isn’t enough and ends the conversation by reminding him that she wants the whole family at the awards ceremony that night.

At the awards gala, Andreia tries to grab a glass of champagne to toast to the success of Laura, but Eduardo prohibits it, reminding her that being pregnant she can’t drink alcohol.
She tries again and her husband lowers her arm violently, dismissing the waiter.
Salvador tries to correct his brother but Eduardo tells him to mind his own business.
Andreia says he doesn’t need to be provoked because with his temper, he is annoying all on his own.
Laura approaches the group and introduces Salvador  to two other businessmen, telling them that Salvador will be her right arm in the internationalization of Boheme.
Eduardo cannot his his discomfort and displeasure.
