Eduardo, his wife and siblings, are all gathered outside the hospital, waiting for his father Francisco to pass away after the life support has been turned off.

Laura is convinced that her husband and Sofia were lovers.
So she decides to take revenge.
Since she could not take revenge on her husband because he was going to die, she decides to forge the signatures of Sofia and Alvaro, on a check, and makes a withdrawal from the company's bank account of 2 million euros.
Thus making it appear it was the Sofia and Alvaro who embezzled the company's money.
Eduardo doesn't believe they could have done it.
Laura manipulates her son and makes him believe that the friends wanted to keep her out of the company after the death of Francisco, and therefore she had to take matters into her own hands and she confesses that she forged their names. Eduardo is surprised, but trusting his mother, agrees to keep her secret.
But Sofia tells Alvaro she knows it was Laura who forged their names, but she does not tell him it is because she thinks Sofia had an affair with Francisco. She does confide that to her sister, though. Later, Laura learn an arrest warrant has been issued for Alvaro and Sofia. She tells her son Salvador he most have nothing to do with that family anymore, including their daughter, his love, Matilde. She emotionally blackmails Salvador by reminding him that even though he was adopted, she never treated him any differently from her biological children, so she knows he will do the right thing and choose the right side. Salvador says he will figure out what to do. The episode ends with Sofia asking Alvaro what is to become of their future. Alvaro doesn't have an answer for his wife...
