Diogo on "Só Visto!" discussing "Virados do Avesso"

RTP's "Só Visto!" went behind the scenes with Diogo and his co-stars when they were shooting their upcoming film, "Virados do Avesso" ("Turned Inside Out.")  Our amazing Dina sent us the video of this fun interview, along with a translation, found right below the clip.

ADRIANE GARCIA (Host): A Portuguese comedy that promises to be the comedy of the year. "Virados do Avesso" has a star cast, Edgar Pera directing and even a super special appearance by Anselmo Ralph.
DIOGO MORGADO: Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! This is my ice cream! You know that every time I'm near you, look, I keep sweating (he wipes his forehead with a tissue) and I need an ice cream to stay cool.
DIOGO MORGADO: It's a great, light comedy... it's the story of a guy who suddenly wakes up almost in another life. Doesn't recognize himself because he's had a stroke, and part of his memory is gone, including the part that he's gay.
NICOLAU BREYNER (actor and producer): It is a very funny comedy, with a group of notable actors, and Edgar Pêra directing.
EDGAR PÊRA (director): The story is very interesting, because it challenges our attitudes and prejudices, the idea that a person can lose their memory of their sexual orientation.
ADRIANE GARCIA: He's more international than ever, this Anselmo. We can say since he acts with Hot Jesus, now there is Hot Anselmo.
(Anselmo laughs.)
DIOGO MORGADO: In one scene "João" (Diogo's character in the film) tries to show his friends how "macho" he is. Only he, poor fellow, doesn't know how to be macho. So look, check out the outfit: look at the boots. This is the idea that João has of what macho must be. Look at the belt. I look like I came from Brokeback Mountain.
ADRIANE GARCIA: How is to act with our Hot Jesus?
ANSELMO RALPH (who's a very famous Portuguese singer): Look, the guy is, in a good way, damn silly. (laughing) How does a guy go from playing Jesus to a fool?
ADRIANE GARCIA: It’s a sign that he’s really a great actor. And just as he has been so cherished here, he is everywhere.
ADRIANE GARCIA: Can I touch you, or not?  (One of Anselmo's famous songs is called "Don't Touch me.")
ANSELMO RALPH: No, don’t touch me.
ADRIANE GARCIA: Just a little...
ANSELMO RALPH: No, I just said no, don’t touch me.
DIOGO MORGADO: Put the song "Don't Touch Me" on, and it's the perfect excuse for everyone to stay with no clothes on, in their underwear.
ADRIANE GARCIA: Diogo, invite everyone to see the movie.
DIOGO MORGADO: Guys, “Virados do Avesso”.... a spectacular cast, a fun and entertaining comedy. Do not miss it.

There are now a couple of posters and a trailer for Diogo's upcoming comedy film, "Virados do Avesso," which will be opening in theaters in Portugal on Thursday, November 27th.

"Virados do Avesso" ("Turned Inside Out") is a comedy in which Diogo's character, a gay man, wakes up one morning with no memory of his orientation OR his partner, who he has been with for 5 years.  Hilarity ensues as he begins to act as a single, straight bachelor who loves to party, much to the dismay of his very confused partner (played by Jorge Corrula.)  Below is the trailer for "Virados do Avesso," which has a couple of seconds that make it not perfectly suitable for work, but it needs no translation to make you laugh.  :)

Make sure to follow the "Virados do Avesso" Official Facebook Page for all the latest updates on the film, which again hits theaters in Portugal on November 27th.  No word yet if we will get a chance to see the film here in the U.S., but fingers crossed! :)

Diogo on "Alta Definição"'s 5th Anniversary

SIC's show "Alta Definição" ("High Definition") recently celebrated its 5th anniversary, and they aired a special episode showing highlights from their past episodes and clips of many of their past guests sharing their congratulations.  Diogo, who has been a guest on the show twice since it debuted, sent along his good wishes, and the amazing Dina was kind enough to send us this short but sweet clip.  She also sent us a translation, found right below the video.

Diogo on "Alta Definição" 5th Anniversary Special

DM: I hope my son will say his father... was someone who never stopped questioning.

DM: Congratulations "Alta Definição." Five years, five years bringing to the Portuguese the best of Portugal.

(At the end of each episode, host Daniel Oliveira always asks the guest: "What do your eyes say?"  A clip of Diogo's answer plays.)

DM: I hope that my eyes say what my characters try also to say. The truth.

DM: A big kiss also to all who have watched "Alta Definição" all these years, and I hope will continue to see more. Okay? Congratulations "Alta Definição." We are all together.

A huge parabéns to all involved with "Alta Definição" for an amazing, successful five years! And here's to many more years to come.  If you have not seen Diogo's appearances on "Alta Definição" already, you should definitely check them out.  It is a really well done show, and as you'd expect, Diogo is an incredible guest.  You can see his first appearance on "Alta Definição" from October 2009 here, and you can also see when Diogo returned to "Alta Definição" with his interview that aired this past January here.  To be completely honest, this beautiful interview is without a doubt one of my favorite interviews ever, if not my most favorite, to date.  Watch it and you'll see why.  :)
