"Sol de Inverno" - First Episode & Recap

Laura and Francisco arrive at the event where the runway show for the new shoe collection by the prestigious brand Boheme will take place. Sofia makes the final adjustments and Álvaro encourages her., Laura, Sofia, Alvaro and Eduardo enter the area for the runway show. A photographer approaches and takes pictures, with Francicso's permission. After taking the first set of photos, he asks Eduardo to step out of the shot, because he wants one photo of  just the partners of Boheme. Eduardo agrees, but is not happy.

In the middle of the show, Eduardo is called backstage by a producer. Upon arriving inside he is confronted by Andreia, who doesn't want to walk with the shoes that she was given. Her husband insists that she must wear the shoes and do the show as she was told, but Andreia says that she isn't like him, who never expresses an opinion against his mother's. At that very moment, Laura enters the backstage area and overhears what's happening.  She tells Andreia that she walks down the runway with those shoes, or with none at all, making it clear that she will get special treatment just because she is married to her son. Andreia surrenders to her mother-in-law, realizing that Edward, once again, is not going to go against the will of his mother.

The fashion show ends in a standing ovation as Laura appears on the catwalk, accompanied by Sofia, thanking everyone for committing to the success of the new collection of shoes. Francisco approaches and congratulates them while Álvaro praises the womenn and tells Sofia that is very proud of her. Francisco suggests they go partying but Laura tells him that he is crazy, because she only wants to go home to bed. Sofia says the same, and Alvaro tells Francisco that their wives are getting old. Sofia corrects her husband and says they are just tired from too much work. Francisco suggests they take a few days off to go to the lake. 

On a terrace by the lake, Sofia enjoys the sun and Laura tells her that their rest is well deserved after the excellent work they did creating the new collection of shoes for Boheme. Eduardo offers Andreia a drink but she refuses saying it has too many calories. Laura asks her son if he spoke with Simão because he didn't show up at the fashion show. Eduardo says he knows nothing and tells her to ask Salvador. 

Later, Francisco takes advantage of Sofia being alone in the home office to discuss the company's affairs, and to try to seduce her. Francisco tries to grab her several times, while ensuring that the relationship that they had as teenagers wasn't just a crush. Sofia resists, even when Francisco says he will file for divorce from Laura and give up the company so they can be together. Sofia ensures him she won't betray Álvaro, reminding him also that Laura is her best friend. However, Francisco doesn't listen and grabs her, kissing her passionately.  Just then they are surprised by Dulce, which gets very flustered and rushes to tell her boss she didn't see anything. After she leaves, Francisco says he will go talk to her, while Sofia is very upset with the situation and prepares to leave when everyone else is back.

Eduardo questions Álvaro about the company's deal with the Americans and complains that he is never let in on the company's affairs. Laura adds to the attitude of her son by reminding him that is not part of the administration of the company. Eduardo sulks and is dragged by Andreia, who says she needs to rest, because there is a photo shoot the next day. Álvaro mocks how exhausting modeling is.  

Later, Laura enters the Office, hardly believing that Francisco is working at that hour and asks repeatedly if he intends to leave her, or if he's cheating on her. Laura reminds him they have not had sex for a long time but Francisco defends himself. Laura asks her husband to tell her he loves her, but he chooses to kiss her, without saying the magic words. Laura leaves office, thoughtful about the kiss that Francisco gave her, while he is also thinking, as she closes the door.

Later Laura vents to Sofia and tell her she's suspicious that Francisco has a mistress. Her friend is embarrassed, fearing that she suspects her. Trying to disguise her nervousness, Sofia tries to get that idea out of her head, although Laura insists that her husband hasn't touched her for months and confesses that she is still madly in love with him. Álvaro arrives at this point and Sofia is relieved by the end of the conversation with Laura.

Francisco is hit by a boat when water-skiing. The driver of the boat screams for Margarida to call 911. The girl tries to connect the phone, while the tears run down her face, realizing the severity of the accident that her father suffered. After the paramedics provide first aid to Francisco, Margarida jumps into the ambulance to accompany his father to the hospital.

At the hospital, Laura takes a glass of water that Teresa gives her.  Sofia, Alvaro and Matilde arrive by then and want to know how Francisco is. Laura says there is still has no information, but then one of the doctors who once spent holidays at their home is the bearer of not good news. Francisco suffered a severe concussion and fractured ribs, which eventually punctured a lung. The shock is devastating when the doctor says that Francisco has no brain activity and will never recover. Álvaro embraces Sofia, who cries completely heartbroken. Laura asks to see her husband. Simão, Teresa and Salvador cannot hide their heartbreak. Eduardo berates Andreia, who without any sensitivity, tells him she has to go to her photo shoot.

Laura enters her husband's room and ensures Francisco she will be at his side when he wakes up, refusing to believe that he will not wake up.

Later, Salvador feeds the hope that their dad will wake up but Eduardo and Laura are resigned to the opinion of doctors, waiting for the death of Francisco to happen at any moment. Salvador tells his mom to go rest at home, saying he Simão will stay with their father. Eduardo accompanies Laura home and Salvador, now alone in the room, begs Francisco to wake up. He remains motionless.

Laura looks for some company documents that Francisco kept on the computer and discovers the love messages he sent to Sofia. She immediately gets blinded by anger and assumes that her husband cheated on her with her best friend. Laura begins to knock down everything inside the Office at the same time screaming that her husband deserves everything that's happening to him, wishing him to go to hell. Dulce is alerted by the noise and find Laura in a perfect state of fury. She is suspicious already after she saw Francisco exchange a kiss with Sofia, but. Dulce escapes from Office as quickly as she can, afraid of what Laura could do. Laura takes refuge in a hot bath and drinking wine. At the hospital, the doctor's report is exhaustive, decreeing the brain death of Francisco, advising that the machines be switched off. Salvador and Simão are opposed, preferring to transfer their father to a private clinic, hoping he will still awaken. The doctor confirms that his state is irreversible and Laura, who arrives at that moment, pretends to be devastated, but agrees that her husband is dead and that the machines must be disconnected. Margarida opposes at first but is then  covinced. Eduardo agrees, nodding, and Simão says they want to say goodbye to Dad.

Margarida, Teresa, Eduardo, Salvador and Simão bid farewell to their father, very devastated. Laura is the last one to do it and asks to be alone with her husband. The tears give rise to anger as she says that even with him dead she will not forgive him for having betrayed him with her best friend. Laura assures him that she will make the life of Sofia a living hell and that she will not rest until she is destroyed. The doctors arrive to disconnect life support to Francisco. Laura watches the death of her husband with a relentless air.
