"The Bible" on the Big Screen? (Clip(s) of the Day)

So first a bit of news.... according to The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Burnett says that he is prepping a theatrical release of a new cut of "The Bible."

Specifically, the article says:

"We're cutting a movie version right now, a three-hour version of Jesus and [we have] many, many offers from theaters globally," executive producer Mark Burnett told The Hollywood Reporter on Monday at NBCUniversal summer press day.  Burnett said the movie version will have a big focus on the Resurrection. He is eyeing a fall release."

Now, I obviously don't know for sure, but it seems to me this cut would have to include unaired footage that was not in the original "Bible" series.  And, as some of you may have noticed like I did, they definitely have unaired footage, because they accidentally used it on a couple of their "previously on" recap intros at the beginning of the episode, even though it was never actually previously on the show, hee.  So we'll see what happens, but it would be cool to see "The Bible" on the big screen for sure.

In honor of this news, today's Clip of the Day is of Diogo (and Mark & Roma and our #FF @DarwinShaw) doing some "red carpet" press before "The Bible Experience" that took place in New York when "The Bible" was airing.  I chose this clip because it's lesser seen "raw" footage, and you get to see Diogo handle the press like a pro who's done American press for 10 years, AND be funny, even when he's clearly cold.  :)    (Also fast forward to near the end to see how un-Peter like Darwin looks "in real life," hee!)

And since it's Tuesday, we'll make it a two-fer, (three-fer?) and include two small clips of Diogo signing autographs in New York recently at "The Bible Experience" and "Good Morning America."  They are very short clips, one doesn't even have audio, but they show two things: one, Diogo goes out of his way to be kind to fans, and two, he's left handed.  :)

  1. Once again, a great post, Sara!
One of the thinhgs I LOVE the most, is the way Diogo shows how proud he is to be portuguese!
One of his purposal in his professional life is "to touch at least one person" he says this many times. Obviously he touched millions!
You're right, he deals the press like a pro! Due to his way he faces life, like a non-star kind of person!
Wich is funny on Diogo signing autographs is that on the second clip (the soundless one) he founds some speaking or native portuguese people and when he looks surprised he says "A sério?" meaning "Really??" maybe responding to that fan!
Darwin is indeed charming in real life and a sweet peron as well.

    Loving this rockin' Blog!!!

  2. Thank you my friend. I wondered what the person said to him in the no audio clip that gets that facial reaction from him. I assumed they had said they had been out in the cold waiting for him or something LOL. Such a nice, cool guy. Still in awe of how quick he is in the press. Watch a lot of "American Movie Star" interviews and you'll hear a lot of "uh, uh, like, you know." I love the way Diogo joked with that woman about going right in for the hard question first, too, hahaha.

  4. Nice clips Sara. I saw the last 2 on youtube and a portion of the first one. But love this extended behind the scenes version. I love that his aim is to reach just one person, this shows that he doesn't try to expect too much but is very grateful when he exceeds his expectations. He's a great guy! Can't wait for the theatrical release of The Bible. You know I'm gonna go see it like 5 times right?

  5. Thanks Domique. I like this version too, before the "news" editors got their hands on it. He is indeed humble and grateful, and I love his honesty about the Satan controversy. I love how he just runs with a question, and am in awe of what a great, natural, confident interview he gives. He's very quick. And I am sure you won't be the only person seeing it in the theaters 5 times by the way. :)

  6. Oh my! Give me cold Diogo over Hot Jesus any day! Hahaha! And how gorgeous is Darwin Shaw "in real life" as you say? And that voice, wow. Can't wait to see these two on the BIG screen where they deserve to be. I'll be one seeing it 5 times as well. THANK YOU SARA for finding these clips and uniting Diogo fans around the world. We really appreciate your hard work and believe he does too.

  7. LOL Mary Ann I just said I'd take cold Diogo over hot Jesus too. Great minds think alike. I like seeing Diogo talk about how he is so happy he has touched people, (not one person, but people Diogo) because he truly has. I mean, look at all of us? We come here daily to know more about him. That's effecting people and I hope he knows that he is making quite the mark. Thank you for this well done blog for like minded people. I love it here.
